Survivin and MKI67 mRNA expression in bladder washings of patients with superficial urothelial cell carcinoma correlate with tumor stage and grade but do not predict tumor recurrence.

چکیده
cable for small-scale analysis, inductive screening, and if necessary, for regional population studies. Caution must be exercised to limit false negatives by minimizing the gap between assay primers. Although specific base changes may be associated with melting signatures, confirmation requires sequencing of PCR products. We reduced the likelihood of false positives arising in this manner by ruling out the presence of sequence variants in the region being interrogated within the population under study. Nevertheless, in unknown populations, we recommend conducting sequencing in a limited number of individuals to verify the basis for melting curve profiles of the variants being screened.

افزایش بروز ژن P53 در سرطان ترانزیشنال مثانه
ABSTRACT Bladder cancer consists of about 5.2% of all cancers in men and 2.3% in women. About 90% of them have the origin of transitional cells(TCC). There are some predictive factors that knowledge of them is useful for management and follow-up of the patients. Expression of oncoprotein P53 is one of these factors. Considering influence of P53 expression on prognosis, we decided ...
متن کاملRole of FGFR3 in Urothelial Carcinoma
Background and Objective: This study was undertaken to analyze the immunohistochemical expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR3) in urothelial carcinoma and correlate its expression with the pathological stage, recurrence and other clinicopathological parameters. Material and Methods: A retrospective study was undertaken on paraffin blocks o...

Background: Transitional Cell Carcinoma (TCC) of bladder is the second most common urogenital malignancy and because of its high rate of recurrence (two third of tumors recur) vigilant surveillance is necessary. There have been a lot of efforts to find a proper biomarker for detecting urothelial cancers because available methods are expensive and invasive (like cystoscopy) or have a low degree ...
متن کاملHigh-Grade Urothelial Carcinoma of Bladder Transforming to Micropapillary Variant on Follow-Up
Micropapillary variant of urothelial carcinoma (UC) of the bladder is an aggressive tumour, comprising 0.6-6% of all UC. It generally presents with high-grade and stage, and has been reported as having a worse prognosis when compared to traditional UC. We report the case of a 58-year-old man who presented with macroscopic haematuria. The patient was diagnosed with high-grade urothelial carcinom...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis of survivin mRNA expression in bladder transitional cell carcinomas.
We assessed the expression levels of survivin mRNA in bladder transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) to provide additional information regarding its malignant potential. The real-time PCR method was used to detect the survivin mRNA level for 21 bladder tumor specimens, and for urinary exfoliated cells from 12 newly diagnosed bladder tumor patients. All bladder tumor specimens and 7 of 12 voided urin...
